The coaches you'll actually train with

Every session has a coach on the floor. These are the people who write your programming, watch your positions, and remember what you lifted last month.

Experts in their industry

Nick Valentine, Director of Training at Alloy West LA

Nick Valentine

Director of Training · Corrective exercise · Postnatal · Nutrition

“Trust the process.”

Nearly a decade in the Marine Corps before he moved to LA in 2024 to coach full time. He works mostly with members 40 and over, with deeper training in corrective exercise, postnatal recovery, and returning to training after physical therapy.

Runs every Starting Point Session, makes the first call, and handles the nutrition conversation members keep bringing up in their reviews.

Nik, Assistant Director of Fitness and Head Coach at Alloy West LA

Nik

Assistant Director of Fitness and Head Coach · Nutrition

“Fall in love with the process, and the results will come.”

Eighteen years in the industry and more than 10,000 group classes coached, from Long Island to San Francisco to LA, all of it starting with a knee injury at nineteen that turned rehab into a career. He has coached pregnant members, members well past retirement, D1 athletes and bodybuilders, and pays as much attention to how you eat as to how you lift.

Sets how a session is coached, and is the coach the rest of the floor checks with when a program needs changing around an injury.

Shawn, Coach at Alloy West LA

Shawn

Coach · Corrective exercise · Nutrition

“You can do anything you put your heart and mind into.”

Started coaching in Houston in 2020, when her own weight loss turned into helping friends with theirs, and moved to LA for the community side of the work. She works often with members who have been told that osteopenia or osteoporosis rules lifting out.

Keeps the standard on form honest. If a rep is not worth counting, it does not get counted.

“Coach Shawn is amazing, the workout routine is tough but very effective.”
Deja, member
Sofia, Coach at Alloy West LA

Sofia

Coach · Certified personal trainer · Corrective exercise · Mobility

“Helping you become the strongest, healthiest and most confident version of yourself.”

A gymnast for seven years before weightlifting became her sport, she certified as a trainer in her first year at LMU and went on to manage its personal training and group fitness teams. She has coached members from 18 to 81, and her time as a physical therapy aide shows in how she works around old injuries.

Takes new members through their first weeks, so the plan you were sold is the plan you actually train.

Lola, Studio Dog at Alloy West LA

Lola

Studio Dog · German Shepherd

“Woof woof!”

Loosely translated: come and train at Alloy West LA, and yes, you may pet me on the way out.

Nick's German Shepherd, in the studio most days and usually the first face you meet at the door. She holds no certifications and is not cleared to spot you.
